Sharpe series by B. Cornwell

Currently reading the Richard Sharpe series by Bernard Cornwell.
I friend of mine, who is a Napoleonic time reenactor in a Highland regiment of the British army (Thanks, Carl!!)recommended the series to me and was kind enough to lend me not only the first three novels but also "Sharpe`s Companion", which provides a lot of background information. So thanks again, Carl!

I don`t know yet, if I`m going to read all 21 novels of the series in a row - maybe I`m not that crazy... But I really enjoyed the first two and am currently starting the third.

So look forward on some book recommendations about the career of Richard Sharpe, doing his duty in His Majesty`s army from 1793 until after Waterloo...

You`ll find the novels at amazon.de:
http://www.amazon.de/gp/search/ref=nb_ss_/028-4042838-3652544?__mk_de_DE=%C5M%C5Z%D5%D1&url=search-alias%3Denglish-books&field-keywords=Sharpe+Cornwell&Go.x=13&Go.y=5

Have a look at the amazing world of Richard Sharpe on the Sharpe Appreciation Society`s website:
http://www.southessex.co.uk/

After some days of thinking, I`ve decided what I`m going to use this journal for - for I`m definitely not the "Dear diary..."-type :o)

Maybe you`ll find some of the books I read as interesting as I do, so you`re welcome to join me there.
From time to time I`m going to post recommendations on fictional (and even non-fictional) stuff for all the people out there, who share my most time consuming hobby...

I hope you`ll enjoy it, so please comment.

For now, yours, Chris.

P.S.: Don`t get confused, although I´m german, I read almost everything in english - as long as it`s written in english of course. So I'll write about it in english. If there might be something I read in german (probably some non fiction books about archaeology...), I`ll recommend it in german. Seems logical to me ;o)
